Topics include land purchases in Montana; the HELENA DAILY JOURNAL; plans to buy the Austin & Northwestern Railroad and street railroads in Richmond and Muncie, Ind.; and Harrison's trouble with the press, most notably a libel suit brought by John Schuyler Crosby. Letters from William Benner offer to Harrison papers damaging to Senator Thomas C. Power. There are also 11 telegrams from Harrison's Spanish-American War service in Florida, and Benjamin Harrison's 1892 annual address to Congress.

The son of President Benjamin Harrison, Harrison was a businessman, politician, and lawyer. A native of Ohio, Harrison moved to Montana in 1878, where he ran the U.S. Assay Office; invested in land, railroads, cattle, and mining enterprises; and bought the HELENA DAILY JOURNAL in 1890.
